Cleaning and sorting days

The renovations at The Mission are nearing an end, and in order for the church and other users to get back into the building there’s going to be a lot of cleaning, sorting and shifting needing to be done!

We’re planning to get as many people as possible down on Fri 2nd March (from 6.30pm) and Sat 3rd March (from 9.30am). No special skills are required, just a willingness to help out. The more people we get down, the quicker we’ll be able to get everything sorted and the building back ready for use.

Building Development

The building development work is currently scheduled to finish mid-February. There are then a few tasks which we need to do (e.g. painting and moving everything back into place) before we can move back into the building. This will happen on evenings and Saturdays during the last week of Feb and first week of March. Please set aside some time and mark it down in your diary to come along if you can.

We then aim to be back meeting in The Mission from Sun 4th March (and back to our normal time of 11am). We will have a dedication service, including a church lunch on Sun 25th March, to which everyone is invited, including friends, members of the community and building users as we rededicate our building, and more importantly ourselves to the service of God.

Please keep praying that God will lead us and guide us this new year and that he would show us how he wants us to serve him as a church community.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year everyone!

Just a reminder that things are back to ‘normal’ now, with our Sunday services at 2pm at Dunbar Hall (until we’re back to the Mission – which will hopefully be the end of Feb)

Also, Fellowship Groups, Prayer Meetings etc. are back up and running – have a look at the January schedule for more detail.

Finally, have you made any new years resolutions? How about checking out the suggestions at http://www.rejesus.co.uk/blog/post/new_year_checklist/

Christmas Eve Service

Although there will be no service on Christmas Day, we have been invited by the St. Mary’s congregations in Cove to join them at 7pm on Sat 24th Dec for their Christmas Eve service. Various people from The Mission are involved in the service and I’d encourage anyone who can to go along and celebrate the good news of Christmas with our brothers and sisters in Cove.

IMPORTANT!! Location and time changes.

Because of the refurbishments at The Mission we are meeting at 2pm at Dunbar Street Hall, directly opposite The Mission until the end of January.

However, on 4th Dec and 18th Dec, Dunbar Hall is unavailable and so we will be meeting at 2pm at St. Mary’s Church of Scotland, King Street – put it in your diaries!

Christmas Party on Sun 18th

Sun 18th Dec, 2pm at St. Mary’s Church, King Street is our Christmas Party. There’ll be games, songs, crafts, videos and mince pies.

We’ve invited St. Mary’s to join us as well as the children and families from Sams Kids Club. There are also invites (in the form of Christmas cards) so that you can invite friends and neighbours. These are available at the back of church each week.
